Jani, called just Polz by his fellows, is a sincere elementary schoolboy. He likes his schoolmate Hojka, but especially drawn to inventiveness. He is suported by his mother, his schoolmate Hojka and Fitipaldi. The rest of them, on the other hand his father, a teacher of physics at the top of list, show no recognition of his efforts whatsoever. When seeminghly on the verge of his first success, his device explodes and thus concludes his life of home expirimentation. Polz remains a kind of rebel and fanatic in the eyes of adults, but his younger brother is already promising to follow in his footsteps. - IMDb

I've just read on a certian Russian forum that this movie has been found controversial and nowadays strange that it was considered a kid's/family movie and not limited to teenage or older audience, all because of more that 2 minutes long scene taking place on naturist beach. However, maybe abroad, but Slovenians are not ashamed of their work and this movie has never been banned, restricted, cut, but it has been repeatedly shown in Slovenian theatres and not so rarely on national TV network, most recently in Christmas week 2018., when there was a one kid or youth Slovenian movie each day at the same time. Also, it's interesting that Irena Kranjc has a smaller role in a movie, now as adult, the actress who is mostly remembered as Jagoda in Ko zorijo jagode, which also still appears on TV. |
