Экранизация популярного в Германии детского бестселлера Хельмута Баллота. 11-летний Виктор Ларош вместе с семьей переезжает в оставшийся от дяди старый мрачный особняк. Сначала в одной из комнат он видит таинственную фигуру за зеркалом, а затем среди массы необычных старых вещей он находит дневник погибшей много лет назад при загадочных обстоятельствах дочери дяди Сесилии.
