For some time now Martin has noticed how his socks have been going missing in the night. They’re never there when he gets up and looks for them in the morning. His family give him a terrible row for having lost them, and his classmates tease him remorselessly. What happens under his bed at night, while he’s giving it big z’s? It’s better not to look and to pretend you’re asleep, to try and enter the land of nod as quickly as possible so as not to think about what’s going on so near yet so far.
