An omnibus film comprising of several stories, directed by Stefan Arsenijevic, Nadejda Koseva, Mait Laas, Kornel Mundruczo, Cristian Munglu, and Jasmila Zbanic:
"Ritual" by Nadezda Koseva (Bulgaria): The wedding parade stops because of the indecisiveness of the bride and groom.
The "Girl with the Turkey" (Devojka sa curkom) by Kristian Mungui (Romania) talks about a shy young girl coming to the city for the first time and facing a very difficult situation.
Two kids born on the same day, in the same city, but without any chance to ever meet is the theme of the "Birthday" (Rodjendan) by Jasmila Zbanic (Bosnia-Herzegovina).
"Short-lived Silence" (Kratkotrajna tisina by Kornel Mundruczo of Hungary): Suicidal clerk finds himself in an existential conflict when he tries to overcome his family problems after the passing of his mother.
Vera, a street-car conductor, overcomes her authority and finally finds happiness - "One Afternoon, Suddenly" by Stefan Arsenijevic of Serbia.
