Within the walls of a crumbling tenement hotel, 10-year-old Marty shuffles through the dingy halls making his meager living as a messenger for the eclectic hotel residents. Marty dreams of escaping this isolated, miserable reality with his best friend, Maureen, who is a young prostitute in the hotel.
