A celebration at the Kravchenkos family mansion ends with a tragedy when a violent fire starts in which dies a child. The official investigation says it was an accident. This conclusion seems to suit all Maria's relatives, but not her. She is sure an anonymous malefactor, who had threatened her family, set the house on fire during her son's birthday party, for which Maria had invited all her relatives.
