Alya lives in a small seaside town. She is in love with fisherman Ivan, expects his baby and can't wait to get married with him. But on the wedding day Ivan disappears. Soon Alya finds out that he died while robbing a warehouse. Alya's mother persuades her to leave the town and to give birth in village. But the baby dies. Crushed with a grief, Alya comes back to the town. Tolik Kuntsev, the son of local mayor, starts seeking a hand of her, and she agrees to marry him.
