Vika, the wife of a major official, is forced to follow her married to the small Siberian town of Tashtagol, where he is running for mayor. As a result of a family quarrel and a series of comical incidents, she loses her memory, completely forgetting who she is and where she comes from. Vika wakes up in the house of the unsociable forester Mikhail, who is raising three children alone. Taking advantage of the fact that Vika does not remember anything, the children inform her that she is their mother. At the same time, an election race starts in the city, in which the forester unexpectedly finds himself involved. He asks his new wife to help him with his image and preparations for the elections. Вика, жена крупного чиновника вынуждена ехать вслед за мужем в маленький сибирский город Таштагол, где он баллотируется в мэры. В результате семейной ссоры и череды комичных происшествий она теряет память, напрочь забывая, кто она и откуда. Вика теряет память и приходит в себя в домике нелюдимого лесника Михаила, который в одиночку воспитывает троих детей. Воспользовавшись тем, что Вика ничего не помнит, дети сообщают ей, что она их мама… В то же самое время в городе стартует предвыборная гонка, в которую неожиданно для себя оказывается вовлечён лесничий. Он просит свою новоиспеченную жену помочь ему с имиджем и подготовке к выборам. Дело приобретает ещё более комедийный оборот, когда ничего не подозревающая героиня включается в политическую борьбу против своего настоящего мужа.
