In a rural town, the shock death of a teenage boy devastates his family. As the boy's father Tom wrestles with grief and guilt in equal measure, he can find little solace in his family, and in throngs of mourners who only remind him of his failure. Ceremony, companionship, helping hands and shoulders to cry on all pale to his devastation.
