The Gerasimov family is large and friendly. Pavel is an architect, father of five children, dreams of a sixth. The only thing that interferes with happiness is the cramped Moscow apartment in which the heroes live. Inspired by this pain, Pavel is developing a residential complex for large families. Developer Lev Borisovich likes the idea of the Kovcheg residential complex, but only as a way to attract attention to the project. This puts Pavel in front of a difficult dilemma: to increase his living space by deceiving poor fellows like him, or to come into conflict with a very serious person. The family realizes that they are not capable of bargaining with their conscience, sells the apartment and leaves the city. They settle in the old house where Pavel's ancestors lived and decide to build their own "Ark" with their own hands. Семья Герасимовых большая и дружная. Павел — архитектор, отец пятерых детей, мечтает о шестом. Единственное, что мешает счастью, это теснота московской квартиры, в которой живут герои. Вдохновленный этой болью Павел разрабатывает жилой комплекс для многодетных семей. Идея ЖК «Ковчег» нравится девелоперу Льву Борисовичу, но только как способ привлечь внимание к проекту. Это ставит Павла перед сложной дилеммой: увеличить свою жилплощадь, обманув таких же как он бедолаг, либо пойти на конфликт с очень серьезным человеком. Семья понимает, что не способна на сделки с совестью, продает квартиру и уезжает из города. Они селятся в старом доме, где жили предки Павла, и решают своими руками построить свой «Ковчег». Этот выбор превращает жизнь семьи в настоящее приключение, открывает им силу большой дружной семьи и каждого ее члена в отдельности.
