i cant remember much of it but... the main char is a Canadian border patrol and his daughter is mad at him for moving them out there... i think bank robbers shot the sheriff and kidnap his daughter and try to make their way thru the forest while he tries to get his daughter back from them

Sounds a bit like the Bruce Willis movie Hostage - also starring Jimmy Bennet.
