Synopsis (part of): It's rare to see paedophilia tackled from a child's point of view, but this powerful indie feature succeeds in inhabiting the damaged/resilient psyche of the pre-pubescent Tadao. The boy is regularly subjected to his father's lusts while his mother turns a blind eye. Freewheeling, hand-held images and jagged editing take us deep into the games that Tadao plays with his equally young friend Aya,who is sent out on the streets whenever her mother entertains a boyfriend.
