Through the adults surrounding him, eight year-old Frederik is confronted with animalistic desires, abandonment, death, hatred, and envy. His parents hold little love for each other, and his mother starts an affair with Frederik's teacher. Although not a children's film, the main character is a boy named Frederik, who lives in a small Danish town that may look very quaint but has plenty of skeletons hidden in the closet. After Frederik's father is killed, he gradually loses faith in all grown-ups, as they seem altogether untrustworthy and decides to become the Human Beast and take revenge on the adult world. |
