Following IMDb http://imdb.com/name/nm1211485/ Raquel Castro was 10 when she appeared in Jersey Girl. IMO she looks only 7 in film. Could be mistake here?

That is because the movie was made in late 2002 when she was 7 10/12. If I am reading this website correct http://www.jerseygirl-movie.com/diary.html the filming began in Sept. 02 and ended Dec 02. That meant she actually had her eighth birthday while shooting.

We have talked about this before. The time between filming and release can be lengthy. In this case, about a year and a half to two years.

Ah, i should have guessed!
Of course, there was delay between filming and release. Actually, my opinion was that all modern US movies usually filmed in 3-6 months. Now i see that it is not always so.

This was filmed in about three months' time. Post production and finding the right weekend for relaase took time. What would be intersting to know is how long the average movie takes between wrap and release (end of filming to opening night in theatres).

did they ever release the directors cut? Because Kevin Smith often spoke about releasing such in the audio commentary.
