Can you help find the title of this movie for me?

It is about a man who awakes to find virtually everybody has disappeared. The only one's left are those who died at the same instant. The film explores his loneliness as well as it's science fiction themes.

As far as i can remember the film suggests another "shift" in some cosmic state will happen again and the ending is strange and beautiful (i seem to recall a Saturn type world in the background at it's ending?)

The film may be set in Australia or made by a Australian company but i could be wrong about that.

the quiet earth. a great movie. not a whole lotta kids in there, grand total of zero.
