hi,i am searching for a film which has a kidnapping in it but i cant really rememeber much,and am kicking myself over it,well here goes-

A female knocks at a door to an apartment and i think a woman answers the door and i cant remember if she is invited in or lets herself in,anyway they talk and this detective or whatever she is has suspicions and asks the woman "where are the pictures of your children" and the woman is like HUH? and she says "why dont you have any pictures of your children?" anyway the scene ends with the woman getting shot dead maybe in the head and the children being found,i think there might have been a man in this scene who was killed too,oh yeah i think the kids were in a wardrobe compartment or something,and this film was late 90s or later even.Thats all i can think of sorry-but please help me. oh i think it is American as well.....
