Что-то страшное, но очень хрупкое, полное боли и ненависти, стонет и плачет, пугая пациентов детской больницы "Мерси Фолз", устроенную в стенах старого замка на острове Мэн. Эта больница должна быть вскоре закрыта, но Эми, работающая ночной няней, открывает страшную тайну: существо, которое больные окрестили "механической девочкой", не намерено отпускать от себя ни ее, ни детей.
